Okay, the whole idea of ‘staycationing’ wasn’t as exciting as it first seemed. But the thing is – with time constraints on work schedules (as an aside – why do some American firms give so little paid leave?) and the length of the June school holidays, why not try it?
Besides, I can’t claim to know Singapore like the back of my hand … yet. And it’d be good to show the kids Singapore as they know it before it changes – my memories of Singapore have been continually been erased by new structures occupying that of the old.
So in no specific order of merit or interest, I’ve got The ArtScience Museum as a possible place of interest, a few movies to catch viz., Hoodwinked Too, Kungfu Panda 2, The Green Lantern, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Captain America: The First Avenger.
We might spend some time at Sentosa as well, although we haven’t quite decided on a plan of attack.
As for food, the choices are limitless, unless, of course, you’re talking about my kids. Then we can only choose among fish & chips, duck rice, chicken rice, charsiew rice, black olive rice (heard Porn’s quite good), Peperoni Pizza (the one in Greenwood Ave’s very good), and ice-cream (any kind). I’ll update if there’s any addition to their expansive diet.
We do intend to spend 3 full days ‘staycationing’, and maybe a couple of half-days just shooting the breeze – let’s see what happens.
Till the new adventure begins 🙂
